Valley View ISD Mission Statement

The District is committed to providing effective instruction to develop all our students' potential using the latest teaching techniques and contemporary technology. We intend that all students who graduate from our District will acquire a foundation for a productive life and will have the skills necessary for success in higher education and the workplace. We expect students to develop a sense of self-worth and confidence that will allow them to cope with their ever-changing world environment.

Valley View ISD

Valley View Independent School District is a strong, vibrant school in North Central Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The District includes 89 square miles, which straddles Interstate 35 and includes the town of Valley View, population 875, in southern Cooke County. This ideal location provides residents with the joy of country living and easy access to major city benefits, such as healthcare, shopping, and recreational activities. Valley View has all the advantages of being a small community and is minutes from shopping in Gainesville and Denton.

Students succeed at every level in UIL academics, co-curricular and athletic competitions, and STAAR results. The district offers a small school environment where students and teachers participate in learning. With a pupil/teacher ratio of 15:1, students are given the individual attention needed to excel. Standards are high, and the school has a reputation for expecting much from students who expect much. Choosing the right community and school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your family. Valley View Independent School District encourages parents to consider the city of Valley View and the District when choosing a community and school. 

 

    1. A school administrator, school resource officer, or school district peace officer of a school district may refuse to allow a person to enter or may eject a person from property under the district's control if the person refuses to leave peaceably on request and:
       
      1. the person poses a substantial risk of harm to any person; or
      2. the person behaves in a manner that is inappropriate for a school setting and:
         
        1. the administrator, resource officer, or peace officer issues a verbal warning to the person that the person's behavior is inappropriate and may result in the person's refusal of entry or ejection; and
        2. the person persists in that behavior.
           
    2. Identification may be required of any person on the property.
    3. Each school district shall maintain a record of each verbal warning issued under Subsection (a)(2)(A), including the name of the person to whom the warning was issued and the date of issuance.
    4. At the time a person is refused entry to or ejected from a school district's property under this section, the district shall provide to the person written information explaining the appeal process established under Subsection (h).
    5. If a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in a school district is refused entry to the district's property under this section, the district shall accommodate the parent or guardian to ensure that the parent or guardian may participate in the child's admission, review, and dismissal committee or in the child's team established under Section 504, Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. Section 794), in accordance with federal law.
    6. The term of a person's refusal of entry to or ejection from a school district's property under this section may not exceed two years.
    7. A school district shall post on the district's Internet website and each district campus shall post on any Internet website of the campus a notice regarding the provisions of this section, including the appeal process established under Subsection (h).
    8. The commissioner shall adopt rules to implement this section, including rules establishing a process for a person to appeal to the board of trustees of the school district the decision under Subsection (a) to refuse the person's entry to or eject the person from the district's property.
