Credit By Examination: Currently enrolled students are able to participate in acceleration exams to advance one grade level or earn high school course credit. These tests are offered four times a year.
PSAT/NMSQT: The Preliminary SAT (or PSAT) measures readiness for college and practices for the SAT. The PSAT is also used for many scholarship opportunities.
SAT: One or two common standardized tests used for college admissions. The test comprises three sections: reading, writing language, and math.
STAAR: The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness is the standardized testing system used across grade levels in Texas to gauge a student's academic knowledge for his or her current grade level.
TELPAS: The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) is an annual assessment for students who have been identified as English learners (ELs). TELPAS assesses English language proficiency in four language domains - listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
TTAP is a multi-year, fully online pilot launched in the 2022–2023 school year. The progress monitoring system has three short testing opportunities – one in the fall, one in winter, and one in spring. The TTAP progress monitoring opportunity covers the full scope of the curriculum.
TSIA2: The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) is a series of placement tests for students enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The tests help Texas schools determine whether you’re ready for college-level courses in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
