Public Notice: Proposed Library Book Purchases

In compliance with Texas Senate Bill 13, Valley View ISD is providing public notice of proposed library materials to be considered for purchase.

The following list of titles for Valley View Elementary will be available for public review for 30 calendar days, beginning October 20, 2025, and ending November 19, 2025.

TexQuest

TexQuest is a statewide program that gives Valley View ISD educators, students, and their immediate families access to high-quality, reliable digital resources—anytime, anywhere. These resources support teaching, learning, and research for all Texas K-12 schools.

 

Reconsideration or Challenge of Library Materials


At Valley View ISD, requests to reconsider library resources will follow the procedures outlined in policies EFB(LEGAL) and EFB(LOCAL).

  • The process begins with contacting the student’s campus librarian and/or administration to attempt an informal resolution.

  • If the concern is not resolved informally, individuals may then submit a Formal Challenge Form. This step initiates administrative notification, the formation of a review committee, and a formal review of the material.

Please note: Beginning September 1, 2025, all formal challenges must be submitted using the official form provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in compliance with SB 13.
