Valley View requires all students planning to participate in athletics to have a complete, up-to-date physical for the 2025-2026 school year.

Students without a physical will not be allowed to participate in athletics until the physical is completed and turned in.

At VVISD, our athletics program provides students with valuable opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and school spirit. Participation in sports fosters a sense of belonging and pride within our school community, uniting students, staff, and families through shared experiences at games and competitions. A strong athletics program strengthens school spirit and builds lasting connections that extend beyond the playing field.

Beyond the excitement of competition, student-athletes develop lifelong physical activity habits, contributing to their overall health and well-being. Studies show that regular exercise enhances cognitive function, improving concentration, memory, and academic performance by stimulating neurochemical activity linked to motivation, mood, and learning. Additionally, balancing athletics with academics teaches time management, discipline, and responsibility—skills that benefit students in school and their future careers.

Athletics also plays a crucial role in developing social and emotional skills. Student-athletes learn teamwork, leadership, and communication while forming meaningful friendships. Participation in sports promotes resilience, self-confidence, and the ability to overcome challenges. Furthermore, the values of sportsmanship—integrity, respect, and perseverance—extend beyond athletics, shaping well-rounded individuals prepared for success in all aspects of life.
