PSAT Testing

The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is designed for 10th and 11th-grade students as both a practice test for the SAT and a qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Taking the PSAT/NMSQT helps students become familiar with the format and content of the SAT, while providing valuable feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. It measures skills in Reading, Writing, Language, and Math, and includes no essay portion. High-scoring juniors may qualify for scholarships and recognition through the National Merit program and other organizations.

For younger students, the PSAT 8/9 is available as an introductory version of the test, helping students begin planning for college and identifying academic skills early on.
