James Womack, M.Ed. Named Lone Finalist For Valley View ISD Superintendent
At a special board meeting on Monday, April 22nd, the Valley View ISD School Board unanimously voted to name James Womack, M.Ed., the lone finalist in the superintendent search. Texas law requires a 21-day waiting period before an official contract may be offered, and his contract is scheduled to be approved at the next regular school board meeting on Wednesday, May 15th. Mr. Womack is currently the superintendent of Richland Springs ISD. He has 20 years in public education, including 14 in administrative roles. Mr. Womack earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tarleton State University. He is currently enrolled in their Educational Doctorate program and expects to complete his doctorate in spring 2026. He currently serves on the Professional Leadership executive committee of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA).
Mr. Womack brings a servant leadership style and embraces high instructional expectations. He believes every student will be afforded the opportunity to meet their maximum potential while understanding that extra-curricular opportunities and traditions are an important part of a successful school community. He believes in transparency and building relationships with students, teachers, staff, and community stakeholders to produce trust and drive a culture of excellence.
Personally, Mr. Womack has been married to his bride, Mindy Womack, for 19 years. They will bring two sons with them to become part of Eagle Nation: Connor will be a senior, and Hunter will be a freshman. Both boys are excited about plugging into the traditions and opportunities the Valley View community has to offer.
Please join us in welcoming the Womack family to Valley View ISD.
