Valley View ISD Board of Trustees Calls $65 Million Bond Election for November 4, 2025

The Valley View ISD Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a $65 million bond election scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The bond is designed to address enrollment growth, enhance student opportunities, and ensure the district is prepared for the future.
Meeting Growth with Purpose
With district enrollment expected to nearly double by 2035—from 851 to approximately 1,652 students—Valley View ISD is proactively planning to increase facility capacity by more than 40%. All current campuses are approaching functional capacity, and the proposed bond projects aim to accommodate future growth while improving the educational experience for all students.
Proposed Bond Projects
If approved, the bond will fund:
-
Construction of a new Valley View High School
-
New Career & Technical Education (CTE) facilities to support new programs
-
Renovations at existing campuses for grade-level reconfiguration
-
Land acquisition for a future elementary school
-
Paved parking and fire lanes to improve safety and accessibility
Campus Reconfiguration
To maximize space and efficiency, the district plans to reconfigure grade levels as follows:
-
Pre-K through 2nd grade at Valley View Elementary
-
3rd through 5th grade at Valley View Intermediate (current middle school)
-
6th through 8th grade at Valley View Middle School (current high school)
-
9th through 12th grade at the new Valley View High School, designed with future growth in mind
Community-Driven Planning
The bond proposal was shaped through a year-long process involving a Bond Planning Committee made up of about 30 local stakeholders, including parents, educators, alumni, and community leaders. The committee met ten times to analyze enrollment trends, facility needs, community feedback, and potential solutions—resulting in the plan being presented to voters.
Tax Impact
The maximum estimated tax impact is .2835 cents per $100 of assessed property value. For the average Valley View homeowner (home value ~$347,884), this translates to an estimated monthly increase of $49.11 with the proposed $140,000 Homestead Exemption.
Important Note: Homeowners aged 65+ or those who are disabled will not see any increase in school taxes due to state law protections.
